1. If you’re bisexual and ever wondered where you can meet others like yourself, well wonder no more. The Chicagoland Bisexual Network (www.bisexual.org/g/chicagoland/) has information on its political action group, discussion groups for both genders, and socials (dinner, volleyball, etc).

2. An Angel’s Whisper (www.anangelswhisper.com/) is intended solely for the GLBT community and its supporters. Moreover, the site is dedicated to those who are fighting AIDS as well as those who have succumbed to the disease. You can choose from various clothing, stationery, and party items.

3. I love the International Movie Database (www.imdb.com). You can find information about your favorite actor. (Did you know that Gina Gershon was in Pretty in Pink or that Harrison Ford has a species of spider named after him?) You can also find out about any movie and practically any TV show (even the ones that only lasted for an episode—Holding the Baby, anyone?).

In his letter to the Tacoma News Tribune, Jim Borah points out a statistical fact that some people choose to ignore: “Leo Bellart (letter, 2-4) argued that all the Boy Scouts are trying to do with their ban on homosexuals is protect our youth from sexual abuse. Since it is a well-documented fact that over 90 percent of sexual child abuse toward both girls and boys, is committed by heterosexual males, wouldn’t it make sense for the Boy Scouts to ban all adult males from Scouting?”

Rick Dudding writes to the Roanoke Times in Virginia about their recent series about gay life in the city: “The news article (if you can call it that) that you did on Jan. 30 as part of your ‘Living gay’ series on gay men living in Roanoke was a slap in the face to men all over this valley. If God had wanted men to be with men, he would have put nothing but men on this Earth.”

Rowena Conkling writes to the Boston Globe: “Our education system is in trouble; our highway infrastructure is crumbling; we have no recognizable long-term energy policy; homelessness among working families and teenage mothers is becoming commonplace; important decisions about taxes and the deficit need to be made. And what is House Ways and Means Chairman John Rogers focused on? Other people’s sex lives (‘Rogers’ bill would rule out gay marriage,’ City and Region, Feb. 2) !

“What is it with these people who are so obsessed with sex that they can’t pay attention to the business of government?”

Sitting on your fat ass and moralising about other people is much easier than actually solving the problems of the people who you, supposedly, represent.

Juan Jimenez writes a common sense letter to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram: “It never ceases to amaze me how many excuses so-called Christians will find to practice intolerance against their fellow human beings simply because they happen to be different,” writes Jimenez. “Charles Billingsley of Fort Worth (Dec. 26 letter) should know that his argument that homosexuality is a matter of choice falls flat on its face on the basis of one excruciatingly simple question: If homosexuals choose to be homosexual, does that mean that heterosexuals choose to be heterosexual? Of course, the answer is a resounding ‘no … .'”
