Reuters/Variety reports that not only is Ellen DeGeneres finally getting her much-talked-about CBS show this fall, but she will again host the prime-time Emmy Awards Sept. 16 on CBS. She did a nice job co-hosting the awards with Patricia Richardson in 1994—prior to coming out as a lesbian. In The Ellen Show, she plays a “high-powered Internet executive who leaves the big city to return to life in her Midwestern hometown. Her character in the new show is also gay, but DeGeneres’ sexuality will not be a major issue on the new comedy,” reuters reported.
