1. Catch up on what’s going on with Ananova (www.ananova.com), a British-based site that reports on all types of current events. Of course, you’ll find the latest terrorist bits. However, you’ll also get news on the royals, entertainment scoops (“Jennifer Lopez has reportedly demanded 10 dressing rooms for her forthcoming appearance at the Top of the Pops Awards”) and even items about sex/nudity (“Nude Biker Appears in Court Wearing Only Red Cowboy Boots”). You can even personalize (or personalise, since this is an English site) your own news page.

2. Face it—you know at least one of Sondheim’s songs by heart. The Stephen Sondheim Reference Guide (www.geocities.com/sondheimguide/) has everything you could possibly want to know about the man. Shows, including A Little Night Music and Sweeney Todd, are arranged alphabetically with info about each production. In addition, the Songs page has alphabetized entries—with the corresponding show (s) for each. However, the most entertaining part is probably the Sondheim People page, including Mandy Patinkin, Leonard Bernstein, and the incomparable Angela Lansbury.
