Test Positive Aware Network marked its 15th anniversary with an awards benefit last Friday night at the Germania Club. New Executive Director Charles Clifton welcomed the crowd, and a special award was given to former E.D. Dennis Hartke.
Community Visionary awards were presented to Steamworks and to Tracy Baim and Lambda Publications (now Windy City Media Group).
Modesto ‘Tico’ Valle was presented with the Chris Clason Committed to Living Award, named in honor of TPAN’s founder, who first created the group in 1987.
Event co-chairs were Joe Adamczcyk, Marco Fernandez and Greg Harris. Fernandez, active in several local charities, is moving to Miami this week. A former sales rep for Windy City Times, we wish Fernandez well in his new hometown.
