The Bears Mailing List reports that a Tennessee gay campground has been destroyed by homophobes.
“Someone has infiltrated our private group, someone who hates gays and is an evil individual,” Alan Winkler stated. “Once this person was able to find out all the inside details of The Blue Fox, they went to some fanatical minister in Grundy County and blasted me and The Blue Fox. I was in NC and unaware that any of this had happened. … One rumor even named me as a convicted child molester and that the retreat was being built as a place for Satanists to meet … . Television, radio and newsprint was contacted by church fanatics in Grundy County (thinking that the media would help them ‘run out the evil faggots’). This did nothing except to bring more disapproving light to the already infamous Grundy County. When the media did little more than advertise for The Blue Fox, some local freaks banded together and went to The Blue Fox Property and destroyed it completely.”
In addition to major property damage, several dogs were butchered and left scattered around the property.
