Current shows we think are hot, or soon-to-open shows that should be!

COCKTAIL TIME, City Lit Theatre, through Jan. 11. None do the ever-delightful P. G. Wodehouse better than City Lit. This time four pair of middle-aged lovers, stubbornly set in their ways, are no match for Wodehouse’s older and wiser cupid. (Barnidge)

I JUST STOPPED BY TO SEE THE MAN, Steppenwolf, through Jan. 12. Stephen Jeffreys’ three-character play is a bit too long, but beautifully acted and a memorable tale of an aging, Black blues legend and a young British rocker, who just might be the Devil. (Abarbanel)

POSEIDON, AN UPSIDE DOWN MUSICAL, Hell in a Handbag Productions, Theatre Building, through Jan. 11. A loads-of-fun homage to the granddaddy of all disaster flicks, this unabashed camp extravaganza pours on laughs with monster tidal wave force. (Reed)

SKETCHFEST, Theatre Building, Jan. 3-25. This orgy of sketch comedy should bring on tidal wave force laughter, too: 88 performances by 55 groups from Chicago, New York, LA, Seattle, Portland, Ore., Sommerville, Mass., and elsewhere. Two shows a night. (Abarbanel)
