The 45th annual Puerto Rican People’s Day Parade took place in Humboldt Park on June 13.

The parade kicked off at Division St. and Campbell Ave, and was Grand Marshal-ed by Hon. Miguel “Ricky” Mendez Perez, the Mayor of Isabela, Puerto Rico, as well as Ald. Jessie Fuentes (26th Ward). This year the parade honored 60 years of Puerto Rican resilience, as well as the continuing strength of Chicago’s LGBTQ+ community. The parade was also attended by Governor JB Pritzker and featured floats by the City Colleges of Chicago, Griffin Museum of Science and Industry and the Puerto Rican Bar Association, among numerous others.
