Everyone’s favorite GLSEN event, the annual Scholarship Night, will be Tuesday, April 22, at the Sulzer Library, 4455 N. Lincoln Ave., beginning with appetizers and refreshments at 6 p.m. Each year, the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network of Chicago awards scholarships honoring teens who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to ending homophobia in the local K-12 schools.
The highlight of the evening, a Youth Speak-Out panel made up of the scholarship recipients, reveals the courage and leadership with which these outstanding young people conduct their lives at school.
