‘Congresswoman Schakowsky is a longtime friend of the gay and lesbian community. She has fought hard in Washington for programs that benefit all people and particularly for those impacted by HIV/AIDS,’ said Allen Lungo, board president of the Foundation, of Schakowsky’s ‘Biggest Heart’ honor.

The Hearts Foundation is a non-profit organization that holds several fundraising events annually that benefit Chicago area HIV/AIDS service organizations. The Foundation has set a 2003 fundraising goal of $150,000 to be distributed to 16 Chicago organizations involved in HIV/AIDS prevention and education efforts including support of medical, nutritional and legal services.
