GayCoffees, a product of cjk inc., is accepting nominations (getjoejava@gaycoffees.come) in search of a national breast cancer organization to be the recipient of proceeds from Pink Ribbon Roast: Coffee for the Cause. Pink Ribbon Roast will benefit a breast cancer organization, once GayCoffees can find an organization that will accept their donation of 40 percent from each sale (gaycoffees.com/buzz/misc/MTBCW.html).

‘Although the ‘May the Breast Charity Win’ campaign wasn’t officially launched until January, suggestions have been coming in through our Web site since late November,’ said Catherine Kelly, president of cjk inc. and co-founder of GayCoffees. ‘We’ve been searching for a national breast cancer since August, when two of the largest national breast cancer organizations decided not to accept our money. We tried not to give up, but didn’t have the resources to keep contacting breast cancer organizations, and frankly, ran out of time in 2002.’

GayCoffees will be collecting nominations until Jan. 31, 2003, and will have an online vote from Feb. 1-28, 2003.

Once a designated charity is announced in March, Pink Ribbon Roast will be updated to reflect all the breast cancer charities that would like to receive funds from GayCoffees—local or national. The Mautner Project (www.mautnerproject.org) is the only national organization that has been nominated. Other local/regional nominations include: The New Hampshire Breast Cancer Coalition (www.nhbcc.org) and the San Francisco Breast Cancer Emergency Fund (www.aef-sf.org).
