Charlie’s Ale House, 5308 N Clark, kicks off a new fundraiser for the Lesbian Community Cancer Project this month. Customers may purchase a brass plaque engraved with their name for $25—100% of the proceeds will benefit LCCP. The engraved plaques will decorate Charlie’s 30-ft. bar, a mahogany reproduction of the famous Brunswick Oriental bar popularized in the late 1800’s.

‘Since we opened in November we’ve wanted a way to thank our customers,’ said Tim Rasmussen, owner of Charlie’s. ‘This way we can immortalize our neighbors’ names and they can contribute to an organization they love.’

On March 2, Charlie’s Ale House sponsored a wrap-up party for LCCP’s annual Coming Out Against Cancer gala where they introduced the plaques to volunteers, donors, sponsors and friends.
