Hearings will take place Tuesday, June 17, 10 a.m., Chicago City Council Chambers, City Hall, 121 N. LaSalle, 2nd Floor, on the mass arrests by Chicago Police during an anti-war protest March 20.
‘Despite my best efforts, I could not convince the Chairman of the City Council Committee on Police and Fire to hold the hearings. So as promised, I will convene my own hearings on the events which occurred that night,’ Ald. Joe Moore (49th) said. ‘Joining me will be Ald. Ricardo Munoz (22nd) and Ald. Helen Shiller (46th).’
The City’s Corporation Counsel has advised the Police Department not to participate in the hearings because of a pending civil lawsuit.
