A little girl dreams of trains—from subways to streamliners—and they come to life as heroic action figures on roller skates in this newly revised version of Starlight Express, the Andrew Lloyd Webber 1980’s hit show. Think roller ball meets The Little Engine That Could. This touring production integrates model trains and 3-D movies with the singing, skating live actors, and features new songs by Sir Andrew and by David Yazbek (The Full Monty).
Starlight Express is at the Ford Center/Oriental Theatre through July 6;
(312) 902-1400; $20-$70.
