Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund will host its Seventh Annual Into the Woods VII event in LaPorte, Ind., Saturday, Aug. 16. The event will benefit Lambda Legal and its continuing work toward the equal civil rights for members of the LGBT community and people who are HIV positive. Into the Woods will also celebrate Lambda Legal’s recent and historic victory from the U.S. Supreme Court. Lambda Legal expects more than 400 supporters from Chicago, northern Indiana and southwest Michigan for this popular summer fun-filled event.
John Leinweber and Jim Laughlin host this year’s event at Firefly Farm, the couple’s 300-acre horse farm located approximately 90 minutes from Chicago.
Guests are invited to enjoy a lazy summer afternoon strolling the grounds of the 300-acre estate, which includes gently rolling hills, ponds, a rustic cabin secluded in the forest, and all the elements of a ‘working’ horse ranch—horses, cowboys, cowgirls, corrals and grazing pastures.
Ticket prices are $75 (children 2 to 12 are $20; children under 2 are free), and sponsorships begin at $150. Call (312) 663-4413. Or see www.lambdalegal.org
