The Metropolitan Club hosted a ceremony to honor The Aldo Castillo Gallery with the 2003 Gallery of the Year Award. This recognition acknowledges the dedication and innovative ideas of Gallery Director Aldo Castillo. Catherine Seward, founder of the Metropolitan Fine Arts Council, described Aldo Castillo as ‘a prominent pioneer when in comes to the promotion of Latin American Art in the Chicago area.’

The 2003 Gallery of the Year Award couples with the Gallery’s recent recognition as the Chicago River North Association’s ‘Business of the Year’ Award. In addition, Mayor Richard M. Daley presented Aldo Castillo with a Certificate of Appreciation to honor his commitment to the arts. The openly gay gallery director was also featured in a cover story for En La Vida two months ago.
