My first encounter with Gerardo was at the training for folks in various programs for Horizons. We hit it off immediately. A fine-looking man that I just had to have the opportunity to get his digits and information. I found that he was already in a partnered relationship, so just settled for a friendship. Over the years I saw Gerardo accomplish some incredible things through his community services and dedication to making sure the Latin/Mexican community was well represented in all things. We did some work together through a number of organizations including the Chicago Black Lesbians and Gays, Advisory Council on Gay and Lesbian Issues, Horizons and many other organizations.
I really missed seeing him on the scene and really thought he had moved out of state. Gerardo I love you and you will certainly be missed.
