1. Transgenesis Social Services (www.transgenesis.org/): This site focuses on the group that addresses the needs, social and otherwise, of the transgender community. Find out about services, discover how to volunteer, and peruse a list of resources.
2. Café Teatro/Batey Urbano (www.bateyurbano.com): This site is devoted to the Puerto Rican/Latino youth cultural center in Chicago. The center encourages expression through the arts and everyone (gay, straight, and transgendered) is welcome. Check out the pictures, weekly events (such as the Poetry and Hip-Hop nights), and don’t forget the message board.
3. Association for Latino Men in Action (www.almachicago.org): As the site states, ‘[t]he Association of Latino Men for Action (ALMA) is an educational, social, advocacy, and support group for gay, bisexual, or questioning men.’ Check out the latest news and photos from recent events. (How I missed hearing about something called the Classy Bitch Ball is beyond me.)
4. Gay Coffees (www.gaycoffees.com): I’m not sure what makes coffee gay, but with names for blends like Fetish Beans and Gertrude’s Grind they’ll put some kind of spark in your day. Check out this site and find all about Beans for Queens and Homo Delivery.
