The San Francisco Chronicle reports that San Francisco supervisors voted unanimously

to recognize same-sex and other civil unions from any jurisdiction when people relocate to the city.

Chris Daly, Bevan Dufty and Tom Ammiano sponsored the bill. Absent for the 8-0 vote were Aaron Peskin, Gerardo Sandoval and

Tony Hall. An aide for Hall said he had endorsed it in committee. The ordinance needs one more vote and the mayor’s signature to take effect, the paper said.
