‘Take note. Syphilis is on the rise. If you’re sexually active, make testing part of your routine,’ says a new social marketing campaign to launch Oct. 1. The campaign, created by Chicago’s Syphilis Elimination Task Force, encourages regular syphilis testing among men who have sex with men, the population seeing the highest number of syphilis cases in Chicago.

The ads will be featured on Chicago Transit Authority rail platforms, inside trains and on the backs of buses. Posters will be displayed in bars, retail establishments, and community organizations throughout the city.

Data indicate 64% of newly reported syphilis cases in Chicago are among men who have sex with men. See www.GetTestedChicago.com.
