The words are drawn from Gertrude Stein, Edna St. Vincent Millay, Philip Roth, Charles Dickens and Charlotte Bronte; the very contemporary moves for six dancers are swivelled together by choreographer Billy Seigenfeld; the original score by Christian Cherry quotes tunes by Chopin, Cole Porter, Antonio Carlos Jobim and Albert Hague. Clearly, something new and different is going down in the world premiere of Sorrow of Unison Dancing, the new work from Jump Rhythm Jazz Project, Dec. 4-6 at the Dance Center of Columbia College, 1306 S. Michigan. The program also features five shorter dances from the troupe’s repertoire. (312) 344-8300; $10.
