For years, gay and lesbian couples have been caught in a catch-22 with Bally’s health clubs, not having ‘proof’ of their relationship and therefore not being allowed to qualify for ‘family’ membership discounts. Now, however, at least one Bally’s, on Cumberland, is allowing the Cook County domestic Partnership registry certificate to serve as legal proof of a partnership that should be treated on par with heterosexual couples.
Robert Castillo and John Pennycuff, who were first in line for the DP registry, were allowed membership discounts at that Ballys.
