The current attraction at the Cadillac Palace Theatre is a beloved British musical about underage boys doing naughty things. The English have a high tolerance for naughtiness, and for Lionel Bart musicals such as Oliver!, based on Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist. It was Bart’s only hit on this side of the pond, but one smash is enough when it’s as genuinely tuneful and enduring as Oliver! This touring version is based upon producer Cameron Mackintosh’s 1994 London revival, although with a different director and choreographer, no stars and—controversially—a non-union cast. Through Feb. 8; (312) 902-1400; $22-$72.
