It’s a clash of art, ego and politics in It’s All True, a serious comedy by Jason Sherman about the 1937 world premiere of agit-prop musical The Cradle Will Rock. Gay composer Marc Blitzstein, director Orson Welles, producer John Houseman and leading man Howard Da Silva are the main characters, with Washington, D.C. bureaucrats as the villains The play’s title is from an infamous, never-finished Welles film.
