The AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC) has started an interactive Web site (www.aidschicago.org/community) that lists HIV/AIDS events, jobs, services, and news, according to the organization’s press release.
The AIDS Chicago Community Web site is aimed at local service providers, educators, supporters, and those living with HIV/AIDS. The site will facilitate communication and consolidate area housing and service resources into a central online location.
Features include an interactive community calendar for HIV/AIDS-related events; job and internship opportunities with service agencies; a message board; and a first-of-its-kind housing directory that lets people search for area HIV/AIDS housing services based upon housing type, age/gender eligibility, location, and sobriety requirements. Community members can register for free so they can post job listings and messages.
The site has been partially funded through the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development and Title I of the Ryan White CARE Act through the Chicago Department of Public Health.
