The gay Catholic organization Rainbow Sash, in a press release, is calling upon Christians to reflect on the discrimination that GLBT parishioners face around the world. The reflection takes on particular significance this week; according to the release, Jan. 17-25 ‘is the week when various Catholic and Christian denominations pray for Christian [u] nity nationally and internationally.’
Rainbow Sash is calling specifically to several organizations. Among those groups are the National Council of Catholic Bishops, The World Council of Churches, the Greek Orthodox Church, The Salvation Army, and the United Methodist Church.
