Chicago Opera Theater launches its 2005 season with George Frederick Handel’s early dramatic oratorio, La Resurrezione (composed for Rome in 1708 when Handel was just 23). Sung in Italian with English surtitles, it will be conducted by the redoubtable Jane Glover, staged by Lillian Groag and designed by the internationally celebrated John Conklin. If you can’t figure out the story from the title, then you probably shouldn’t bother to celebrate Easter. In this tale of religious fervor, both Mary Magdalene and Lucifer figure as characters. At the Harris Theater for Music and Dance, 205 E. Randolph Street at Millennium Park; (312) 334-7777; $30-$105; through March 12.
