The Community Media Workshop’s annual Studs Terkel Awards will be Wed., April 6, 5-8 p.m. at The Arts Club of Chicago, 201 E. Ontario, Chicago.
The Community Media Workshop, with colleagues from the journalism and non-profit communities, annually honors journalists covering under-covered issues and communities in pursuing news that matters. This year’s honorees include:
— Tracy Baim, editor and publisher of Windy City Times and other Windy City Media Group publications;
— John Conroy, author and staff writer for the Chicago Reader;
— Mary Schmich, columnist for the Chicago Tribune;
— and James Weinstein, writer and founder of In These Times.
