The Association of Latino Men for Action (ALMA) has hired Carlos Castillon, a longtime part of the group and former organizational board member, as its first executive director.

Castillon has been active in the LGBT community since moving to Chicago from Mexico, according to an ALMA press release. He has worked on several community projects, educational programs, and fundraising events.

The organization is hosting a reception to welcome Castillon and new board members, at High Risk Gallery, 1113 W. Belmont, April 29, 6-9 p.m., call (773) 929-7688.
