Mark Doty, an award-winning writer whose many honors include the United Kingdom’s T.S. Eliot Prize for his poetry, read from his works at Roosevelt University, 430 S. Michigan, March 28. Most of his readings came from his newest book of poetry, entitled School of the Arts. Among Doty’s other works is Heaven’s Coast: A Memoir, non-fiction prose that details his partner’s battle with AIDS.
Doty’s appearance was part of the university’s reading series regarding its Creative Writing Program.
