The cultures and dance of South Asia (India) and Africa will be in focus during Satyagraha, Steps of Peace through Power of Dance, an April 29-May 1 festival at the University of Chicago International House, 1414 E. 59th Street. A variety of artists will interpret Satyagraha, the Hindi word meaning ‘spiritual firmness’ that underlay Mahatma Gandhi’s and Martin Luther King’s philosophies of non-violence.
