Crossroads Club, a methadone clinic, has opened its doors at 4545 N. Broadway. (Methadone is a synthetic drug that is used to battle addiction to drugs that are far more habit-forming.)

The clinic is designed to aid individuals who are addicted to a class of drugs known as opiates; these drugs include Vicodin, Percocet, and Oxycontin.

Users are treated in an upscale atmosphere that incorporates everything from gourmet coffee to a private VIP entrance. In a release, the employers at the facility stated that Crossroads Club’s mission is ‘to treat our patients with dignity and respect in all phases of their treatment experience because we believe that substance addiction is a disease.’

They also expressed their hope that the clinic becomes a prototype for similar facilities across the country so that the 600,000 opiate-addicted people who cannot find treatment may do so.

People who need help can either stop by or call (800) 769-1266 as well as (773) 769-4545.
