Casey Schwartz, 25, is a female-to-male transgender activist living in Chicago.

Casey works for The Broadway Youth Center, a program of Howard Brown Health Center and community partners, as a health educator working with LGBTQ youth community.

He is also the coordinator of TYRA (Transgender Youth Resource and Advocacy), a highly successful transgender youth program of Howard Brown and Illinois Gender Advocates. Casey speaks locally and nationally educating service providers, community members and young people on transgender issues and is committed to empowering the transgender youth of today.

At age 19, Casey became an active member of the Chicago Lesbian Avengers. Starting in 1999, he has been involved in Camp Trans, an event that promotes trans inclusion and activism. He graduated from DePaul University in 2002 with a B.A. focusing on psychology and women’s studies. DID YOU KNOW? Casey is the guardian of an eight-year-old goldfish named Roger.
