One of the city’s premier dance events, Dance for Life, is Aug. 27 at the Skyline Stage on Navy Pier, 600 E. Grand.
Internationally renowned dance companies are scheduled to appear, including Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, The Joffrey Ballet, the O’Hare Irish Dancers, River North Dance Chicago and Thodos Dance Chicago. For one night only, these companies will perform on the same stage in a collective effort to fight HIV/AIDS.

Now in its 14th year, Dance for Life is the largest performance-based AIDS fundraising event in the Midwest. The event has raised more than $2 million for HIV/AIDS prevention and care programs. Proceeds from Dance for Life will benefit the AIDS Foundation of Chicago, Test Positive Aware Network, Better Existence with HIV, South Side Help Center and the Dance for Life Fund.
