After 30 years as publisher, Gay Chicago Magazine founder Ralph Paul Gernhardt, 71, is stepping down from the day-to-day operations to focus more time outside of the office and devote time to other pursuits.
Named associate publishers are current general manager Stacy Bridges and distribution manager Craig Gernhardt. Bridges took over inner-office management in 2001 and has gained the respect of his fellow employees and clients. Craig Gernhardt has worked off and on at Gay Chicago Magazine since 1980 in positions from distribution to sales.
Gay Chicago and Gernhardt are both in the Chicago Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame.
