The police department of Bloomington’s Indiana University (IUPD) was called to investigate anti-gay remarks written in chalk on sidewalks at Seventh Street and Woodlawn Avenue, the Indiana Daily Student reported. A university employee contacted IUPD to complain of the insensitive remarks, which made anti-gay statements against the Sigma Chi fraternity.
Sigma Chi President Jerome Hayden said he heard from fraternity members that there were derogatory remarks written about the fraternity, but he had not seen them. Hayden said no writing was done on the fraternity’s property, and no complaints were filed by fraternity members.
