The City of Chicago announced that Victor Skrebneski has agreed to photograph Chicago residents who will participate in the 2006 Gay Games Sports and Cultural Festival.

These photographs will be exhibited from July 13 through Oct. 9, 2006, at the City Gallery at the Historic Water Tower, 806 N. Michigan Ave.

As of now, the exhibition will consist of 15 black-and-white portraits, mostly of athletes, but reflecting the spectrum of events (dance, choral, band, cheerleading, etc.), photographed by Skrebneski. He will combine the portraits with color photographs provided by the participants of themselves being active in their sport or cultural activity. The portraits and color photos will be combined into diptychs, one for each person.

The 15 participants will be based on the principles of inclusion (gender, race, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, etc.) that are the basis for the Games and that would reflect the Chicago LGBT communities as a whole.
