On Dec. 2, Howard Brown Health Center hosted a coming out, of sorts. The aim of the event was to introduce Michael C. Cook, HBHC’s new president and CEO (Photo #1), right, with Modesto ‘Tico’ Valle of Center on Halsted), to various individuals in the LGBTA community. Cook took over the reins at the agency on Oct. 24. In an October interview with Windy City Times, he said that he planned to concentrate on HIV in the minority community as well as the prevalence of drugs—especially crystal meth—in the gay community.
