Oh, Jessica. You’re game for anything. Must be why you’re riding the cover this week (thanks to new Nightspots photog susan ashman!). Fucking fabulous shot, by the way. Very edgy. Very Interview Magazine. Hmmm, would that make me Andy Warhol? No. Perhaps I’m jumping the gun. Jessica, as you may know, is the executive director of Lesbian Community Cancer Project, whose star-studded yearly Coming Out Against Cancer benefit is this weekend. Support a great cause. And send Jessie my amour.
Took the boyfriend (yes, I said it!!!) to the grand opening of 3160. Who did I run into but my ex-boyfriend (and now very great friend) Larry and my former editor, one Sukie De La Croix. The old and the new mixed to the strains of jazzy cabaret. Very cocktail-y. Very swank.
Which reminds me—it is officially two years I’ve been writing this column as managing editor of ye old Nightspots. Thanks for reading!
Wig night at Neo’s Planet Earth gave me the perfect excuse to whip out the grey wig (no pix were taken of that fiasco). I certainly had the least colorful wig in the group. Although, when I stopped into The Closet beforehand, the wig was a bit harder to explain than at Neo. Although I did run into a woman there in a wig whose last name was my first name. What a week.
Cocks and jocks and frocks. Oh, shit. Crew’s hot jock moment was both hot and jocular, thanks to the talents of one Cher. She gets her hands around a mic, or any phallic object I’d assume, and it’s smiles all around.
