Theatre at the Center, the handsome house in Munster, Ind., presents Baby, the bittersweet musical by Sybille Pearson (book), Richard Maltby, Jr. (lyrics) and David Shire (music) that examines pregnancy from the perspectives of three couples: college students who are parents too soon, thirtysomethings unable to conceive and a borderline menopausal pair who unexpectedly find themselves expecting again, just as their nest is empty. The intimate show features local favorites James Rank, Iris Lieberman and McKinley Carter among the six leads. David Perkovich directs. Theatre at the Center is on the Indiana-Illinois border, a few miles east of Homewood. Baby runs through March 5; (219) 836-3255; $35.
