Center on Halsted’s Human First Awards attracted an estimated 1,110 people to set the stage for their final sprint to the $20 million capital campaign. The evening raised more than $500,000. A challenge grant to the agency is inspiring them to raise the last $3 million of the $20 million by the end of 2006. Awards were presented to donors Tom Buchanan and Robert Bell, the After School Matters youth program, Rep. Larry McKeon, healthcare innovator Ruth M.
