Monty Python’s Spamalot is back, but it’s not precisely the same rollicking pre-Broadway show that tried out here 17 months ago. It remains a very funny ensemble piece that doesn’t suffer at all from the absence of star names, and Python true believers still will find familiar bits such as the Knights of Ni and ‘Always Look on the Bright Side of Life.’ Musical theater queens will love the satire of other Broadway shows, while PC queens still will find the gay stereotypes offensive. But this Spamalot is shorter and tighter than before, which is good, although it’s been jacked up with production numbers at the expense of sketch comedy. Nonetheless, the Spamalot blend of British panto and American burlesque is clever nonsense that delivers plenty of entertainment bang for the bucks. Cadillac Palace Theatre, through June 4; (312) 904-1400; $30-$85. Ask for Orchestra Seat D101.
