Gay Games Chicago announced that Logo, MTV Network’s one-year-old cable television channel for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) audience, has become a Premium Global Sponsor of the 2006 Chicago Gay Games. Logo’s sponsorship puts them among the largest sponsors and will include advertising, production, special event and online promotions, and support of the Gay Games by Logo talent.
‘In just one short year, Logo has become one of the most recognizable brands within the gay and lesbian community,’ said Brenda Schumacher, Gay Games Director of Broadcast. ‘We are thrilled to partner with Logo to tell the powerful stories of our community through the lens of sports, culture, celebration and the legacy of the Gay Games conveying our message of Inclusion, Participation and Personal Best.’ Schumacher and Gay Games Vice Co-Chair Tracy Baim negotiated the relationship with Logo.
‘Logo works to connect with our audience in an authentic way and the real stories of athletic achievement are among the most powerful of all,’ said Lisa Sherman, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Logo. ‘The Gay Games has played a critical role in the LGBT community’s history since it was founded in 1982. For Logo, the remarkable stories of the participating athletes, artists and their fans, families and friends make the Gay Games an important part of our 2006 programming.’
Promotional spots about the 2006 Gay Games and Logo’s involvement as a sponsor and partner will begin running this month on Logo, at LOGOonline.com and GayGamesChicago.org.
