Registration for Gay Games VII to End June 15; Late Fees Kick In June 5

There are only about two weeks to go if you plan on participating in the 2006 Gay Games, which will take place July 15-22 in Chicago.

Chicago organizers of the Games have declared that the late registration period for all sports and culture programs will close at midnight, U.S. CDT, on June 15. Moreover, registration late fees will be implemented June 5.

For those who think that ending registration a month before the sports event is a bit rough, organizers insist that the time lapse is needed. ‘Registration must close by June 15 so that we can finalize our competition schedules and prepare for participant accreditation,’ Gay Games Technology Manager Tony Miller said in a statement.

Registration is open at www.gaygameschicago.org. Also, tickets are available to the opening and closing ceremonies; sports and cultural events; and affiliated happenings. The availability of said tickets will not be affected by the athletic participation deadline.
