Sometimes it seems as if Cirque de Soleil and Ringling Brothers have cornered all the world’s circus artists, but it ain’t so. China’s ancient traditions of tumbling, acrobatics and strength acts keep churning out new generations of skilled circus performers. Hey, they gave us the yo-yo! Navy Pier’s Skyline Stage now presents the world premiere of Cirque Shanghai. Sure, it sounds half French but the artists all are Chinese (although some are by way of Branson, Mo.) and this big, family show is all-new. Cirque Shanghai offers family-friendly prices and five matinees a week, plus evening shows. Skyline Stage through Sept. 3; 312-902-1500 (Ticketmaster); $14.50 (kids $12.50).
