The major LGBT youth centers in Chicago, along with area high school and college gay student groups, have come together to form the first-ever Chicagoland LGBT Youth Volleyball League. The season starts June 20.
Teams include Center on Halsted/Horizons Youth Program, About Face Youth Theatre, Youth Pride Center, Phi Alpha Gamma and Youth Empowerment Center. Other organizations or groups that serve LGBT youth are encouraged to join the league. Youths must be under the age of 23; two staff members (24 or older) may play on the team. Each team must have a captain who can attend a league meeting.
There is no entry fee. Interested persons should contact their local LGBT youth organizations or e-mail the Youth Pride Center at youthpridecenter@gmail.com
