Hubris Productions will present the theatrical production Jeffrey at Stage Left Theatre, 3408 N. Sheffield, Thursday through Sunday nights at 8 p.m., from July 6 through Aug. 5.

Jeffrey, written by acclaimed playwright Paul Rudnick, is a romantic comedy that follows the sexual journey of a gay New York actor/waiter. Whether catering an AIDS-related event or cruising at a funeral, he just can’t seem to get sex off his mind. Naturally, this is when Jeffrey meets the man of his dreams—who happens to be HIV-positive. (It was also a 1995 movie starring Steven Weber, Patrick Stewart and Michael T. Weiss.)

Jeff-nominated Scott Shallenbarger directs Brian Lee Bennett, Jason Dabrowski, Jeremy Fisher, Jacob Christopher Green, Anthony Guerrero, Andrea Morales, Michael Sherwin and Andy Sinclair in the second production of the Hubris season.
