The Jewish Political Alliance of Illinois (JPAI) dropped off petitions with 4,700 signatures at Gov. Rod. R. Blagojevich’s Chicago campus at 1200 N. Ashland, urging him to remove Sister Claudette Marie Mohammed from the state Commission on Discrimination and Hate Crimes. All the signatures were gathered on June 11 at the Greater Chicago Jewish Festival, which took place in Morton Grove.
According to a press release from the JPAI, Mohammed refuses to repudiate vile comments that Nation of Islam head Louis Farrakhan makes regarding not only Jews but other groups, including gays and lesbians.
Other organizations that have called for Muhammad’s removal are the Anti-Defamation League and Stonewall Democrats.
