Robert Bowden, 27, is a recent transplant from Nashville, Tenn. As a business development specialist for Nomadic Consulting—one of Chicago’s top executive search firms that specializes in workforce diversity solutions—and operations manager for Troupe Salon and Mondial Spa and Wellness Center, he certainly has a lot to keep him busy. Robert recently organized the Chicago Gay Professional Meetup group, designed to provide a medium for Chicago’s GLBT movers and shakers to connect and strengthen the community’s businesses.

Robert is an active volunteer of Brothers United, a Nashville-based HIV/AIDS prevention outreach to gay and bisexual men of color, and will be covering the Gay Games this summer as a media correspondent for the organization’s publication, ‘The Source 2006.’

Robert also works behind the scenes and occasionally in front of the microphone for ‘Lets Talk for the Children’ radio show. The focus of the Saturday morning talk radio show is on the issues facing youth today. The program is broadcast in the Southeast, but will be available via podcast. Plans are in the works for a Chicago-based internet radio show on similar issues.

An avid performer, Robert most recently appeared in ‘Ain’t We Got Fun,’ a musical based on gay life during pre-Depression Chicago. The play was featured in New York City at the Fresh Fruit Festival, where they received several awards, including Best Musical.
