Season of Concern—a Chicagoland theater-related organization that raises funds to support the fight against HIV/AIDS—recently held a special event at The Atwood Café, 1 W. Washington, to thank the theater community for its generosity.
It was the first such event in the group’s 18-year history.
Theater artists got to mingle with others who are also supporting the organization’s mission. In addition, representatives attended from each of the organizations currently receiving grants from Season of Concern. Among the agencies represented were Interfaith House, Chicago House, Vital Bridges, AIDS Legal Council and New Phoenix Assistance Center.
Stephen Rader, an actor who has also been Season of Concern’s executive director for about a year and a half, told Windy City Times that the event was a long time coming and was a great way of having people from different arenas meet. ‘It’s our way of saying thank you to both sides of the coin,’ he said.
