You can have a picnic while watching Picnic at the Festival Theatre in Austin Gardens, Oak Park, at the edge of the Historic District. Outdoor dining (whether you purchase on-site or bring your own) is encouraged. Picnic, of course, is the steamy 1950s drama by William Inge about unsatisfied sexual hunger in a small Midwestern town, ignited by a handsome young drifter. If Festival Theatre does right by the closeted Inge, there should be a stud parading around with his shirt off several times. Picnic runs in rotating rep with Julius Caesar. Sorry—there are no half-naked men in togas in that one; it’s set in the 1960s. Call for the schedule at 708-445-4440; $20-$25.
